connection to nature for all

would you like to see forest school & nature connection provision being accessible to all?

our vision

we have a vision to grow forest school outside of our own setting and beyond so that more children and adults can benefit from it. witnessing (since our inception in 2017) the numerous benefits of forest school. forest school provision meets a huge need for child & adult wellbeing.

if you are a mainstream setting or are connected to one and you are interested in a forest school provision being offered there, take two minutes to answer the questions on this form to give your setting the chance to attend a complimentary consultation with kin’s founders and a taster forest school training day.

kin is currently bridging into mainstream settings - providing forest school & nature connection based workshops and our forest school leader training to train people to setup and deliver their own forest school provisions. we have established this as part of our adult training programme which is attended by many practicitoners from mainstream settings with the intention that they then infiltrate this practice into their place of work.

we also offer outdoor food safety and paediatric outdoor first aid training which gives practitioners the chance to gain these qualifications with a forest school approach in a woodland setting. we are offering participants from mainstream settings subsided places on to these trainings - contact us here to enquire further.

we have also set up a consultancy service which is for mainstream and alternative settings alike. we have implemented the foundations with a number of settings locally and internationally. we believe the most effective way we can support settings is through training and enabling them to develop their own internal forest school provisions as opposed to contracting external facilitators to deliver sessions.

our approach

our approach has been developed on the ground by bringing together ‘forest school’ pedagogy (to learn more visit the forest school association website using button below) and nature connection practices (a special acknowledgement to jon young and the 8 shields/nature culture network movement which have been essential to bringing these ancient practices to the 21st century). in addition to this, our kinfolk bring their own individual gifts to the work we do on the ground.

our forest pot & shop

it is through our forest pot that kinship in nature strive to ensure our provision is accessible to those who do not have the financial means. our forest pot ensures not only accesibility but sustainability for the future as we know our work in reconnecting people to the natural world is vital for the future of our planet.

we are being supported in both big (for example, with the funding for our forest school leader traineeship) and small ways (for example, through people who support our subsidised places through buying a kin bag or t-shirt through our forest pot shop.

if you are able to support or know someone who is, please consider sharing our endeavour or making a donation through our forest pot here.
